Singapore

Singapore is a city-state in Southeast Asia that was founded as a British trading colony in 1819. Because of its massive increase in wealth, the Republic of Singapore is one of the Four Asian Tigers (the other three are Taiwan, China, and Japan). Singapore is also the world's fourth leading financial centre, and its port is one of the five busiest ports in the world. Its English name is derived from the Malay word Singapura, which means Lion City. In my opinion, Singapore is a very vibrant country because it combines a modern taste of skyscrapers and subways with a medley influence of Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures.
