Macau, China
Macau was an overseas territory of Portugal and in 1999 became independent under the Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China. Macau is best known as Asia's largest destination for gambling taking in even more revenue than Las Vegas. Because of its Portuguese influence, you will feel like you're in Europe with its architecture and sign orientations. However, the Portuguese and Macanese population is insignifcant compare to the Chinese. The Macau Peninsula (where most tourists go) is best experienced by foot. Make sure to check out the casinos and San Paulo cathedral!
